Sidharth Malhotra starrer Marjaavaan to feature a reprised version of Sonam Kapoor’s song Masakali
The song which made Sonam Kapoor an overnight star is all set for a comeback. A R Rahman’s popular track from Delhi 6 starring Kapoor and Abhishek Bachchan, Masakali, is reportedly going to be recreated for Sidharth Malhotra’s upcoming film Marjaavaan.
A source close to the film revealed to an entertainment site, “The makers have plans to use Masakali for Marjaavaan. The original featured Sonam K Ahuja and Abhishek Bachchan and T-Series holds rights to the song. When the producers were scouting for a similar track and melody, they got the idea of using the Delhi-6 number. It’s yet again a soft, romantic number that will feature Sid and one of the girls. It’s yet to be shot.”
Marjaavaan, directed by Milap Zaveri also stars Tara Sutaria, Riteish Deshmukh and Rakul Preet Singh in pivotal role. The makers recently shot a dance number ‘Peeyu Datke’ featuring Sonu Ke Tittu Ki Sweety star Nushrat Bharucha along with Sidharth. The song has been composed by Yo Yo Honey Singh and is slated to be a party anthem just like his other hits.
Since its announcement, the film has been in the news for the reported chemistry between Sidharth and Tara. It’s been long rumoured that the duo are seeing each other. Tara had also confessed in an interview that she has a crush on Sid. Marjaavaan which is a romantic action drama is expected to hit theatres on Gandhi Jayanti this year.
