Meezaan Jaffrey to lead Hungama 2 directed by Priyadarshan
Director and producer Priyadarshan, who is known to master the comedy movie genre, is all set to make his Bollywood comeback with Hungama 2. The film marks Priyadarshan’s comeback into direction after 2013’s Rangrezz. The 2003 cult comedy starred Paresh Rawal, Aftab Shivdasani, Akshaye Khanna and then debutante Rimi Sen in the lead roles.
And after confirming that Hungama 2 is on cards, today the director also confirmed that the film has found its lead actor and it is none other than Malaal fame Meezan Jaffery.
Confirming the news to Bollywood Hungama, Priyadarshan said, “Yes, we’ve found our male lead in Hungama 2 and it’s Meezaan. The boy is terrific on-screen. He is a fabulous dancer like his father, emotes and fights well too. There is nothing he can’t do.”

Priyadarshan had recently revealed that Paresh Rawal, Shakti Kapoor and Rajpal Yadav will be returning for the sequel and the movie will also star Shilpa Shetty. Also, Hungama 2 won’t be a direct sequel to Hungama but will carry the same vibe and madness.
While talking about the film, the director said, “It’s been six years since I directed a Hindi film. Now I am back with a full-on comedy. But no vulgarity, no double meanings. Hungama 2 will be as clean and family-oriented as all my comedies.”
“It will be a fresh story. We decided to title the new comedy Hungama 2 because the mood of Masti, mischief and Hungama remain unchanged,” he added.
The Hera Pheri director concluded by saying, “It will be young, vibrant, warm, funny and family-oriented. In brief, a typical Priyadarshan comedy.”
The work on the project is in full swing and it is expected to go on floors in January.
