Kangana Ranaut’s sister Rangoli Chandel’s Twitter account suspended for violation of rules
Actress Kangana Ranaut’s sister Rangoli Chandel who is an avid Twitter user and is known for her no-holds-barred tweeting style. Be it political, films or related to Nepotism, Rangoli’s Twitter account has been at the centre of several controversies. Rangoli has an opinion on everything. She even makes use of crass language to put forth her point which often calls for trolls for her blunt stint on the platform. But it seems Rangoli, who is also Kangana’s manager, has gone too far with her tweets and finally crossed a line.
After a recent string of controversial and communal tweet regarding the Moradabad stone-pelting incident, her account has now been suspended by Twitter. In her tweet, Rangoli wrote that doctors and medical workers are being attacked and killed while testing people for the novel coronavirus. While her outrage may seem valid here, it was her further recommendation that prompted Twitter to take the necessary action. Rangoli further directed the tweet towards a religious group, and asked for ‘secular media’ and ‘mullahs’ to be ‘made to stand in a line and shot dead’.
Her now-taken-down tweet read, “A Jamati died of Corona when police and doctors went to check their families they were attacked and killed, secular media, make these mullahs + secular media stand in a line and shoot them dead…f****k the history they may call us nazis who cares, life is more imp than fake image (sic)”
Here is a screenshot of the suspended Twitter account:
The tweet was flagged by filmmaker Reema Kagti, actress Kubbra Sait, jewellery designer Farah Khan Ali and other users, who called for action against Chandel.
Farah Khan Ali, shared that she had reported Rangoli’s account and thanked Twitter for suspending it. Tagging Twitter and its CEO Jack Dorsey and sharing a screenshot of Ms Chandel’s suspended account, she wrote: “Thank you for suspending this account. I reported this because she targeted a specific community…”
Thank you @Twitter @TwitterIndia @jack for suspending this account. I reported this because she targeted a specific community and called for them to be shot along with liberal media and compared herself to the Nazis. 🙏🙏🙏 . pic.twitter.com/lJ3u6btyOm

Reema Kagti tagged Mumbai Police and Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray in her tweet slamming Rangoli.
@MumbaiPolice. Could you please look into this and take action? Isn’t this spreading fake news AND inciting hatred & violence against certain people?@OfficeofUT @AUThackeray https://t.co/tKCqS5CZgN

Kubbra Sait said she had blocked Ms Chandel and also reported her to Twitter.
I’ve blocked Rangoli and reported her to twitter.
But @MumbaiPolice @CMOMaharashtra @OfficeofUT This kind of hate mongering is irresponsible. Please look into it, and take necessary actions. https://t.co/WywccuZvKR— Kubbra Sait (@KubbraSait) April 16, 2020

After her account was suspended, Rangoli issued a statement, saying, “Twitter is an American platform absolutely biased and anti India, you can make fun of Hindu Gods call Prime Minister and Home Minister terrorists but if you say anything about people pelting stones on health workers and Police forces they suspend your account, I have no desire of empowering any such platforms with my perspective and honest opinions, so I am not reviving my account, I was my sisters spokes person now watch out for her direct interviews, she is a huge star she has many ways of reaching out, a biased platform can be easily avoided.”
