Janhvi Kapoor to team up with dad Boney Kapoor for ‘Bombay Girl’
After making an enormous debut with Dhadak last year, Janhvi Kapoor has her kitty full with some interesting projects like Roohi-Afza, Gunjan Saxena Biopic, Dostana 2, Takht and Ghost Stories. And now, for the first time, Janhvi is all set to collaborate with daddy dearest, Boney Kapoor in his production titled ‘Bombay Girl’, where she will be playing a rebellious teenager.
“It will see Janhvi in an all-new avatar. Undoubtedly, it’s going to be a special project for both, her as well as Boneyji. After all, the father-daughter duo is coming together for the first time. For the same film, Boneyji has joined hands with [producer] Mahaveer Jain,” a source informed Hindustan Times.
“It’s going to be a coming-of-age story of a rebellious teenager and Janhvi is also very excited about the film as the part is diametrically opposite to her other roles,” the source added. Although not many details about the film have been divulged, the story will be written and helmed by Ssanjay Tripaathy. ‘Bombay Girl’ is set to go on floors in January 2020.

Confirming the news Boney Kapoor said, “I am surely very excited about the film. Janhvi will be doing something completely different from what she is doing in all her other movies.”
When asked if he is emotional about working with Janhvifir the first time, Boney said, “I feel whenever a parent works with his/her kids, it’s an emotional experience, and the same holds true for me. I was equally overwhelmed when I teamed up with Arjun [Kapoor; son] for the first time.”
Boney will also be collaborating with son Arjun Kapoor in the Hindi remake of Tamil hit, Comali.
