Gangubai Kathiawadi first look: Alia Bhatt’s fierce and intense look as Mafia Queen will leave you spellbound

Alia Bhatt is one actor whose star status has never stopped her from trying challenging or experimenting with her roles. Be it a fun-loving, carefree Tia from Kapoor and Sons or a drug abused victim from Udta Punjab Alia can slip into any role with ease. Now, the jack of all trades, Alia is all set to impress viewers with another hard-hitting character in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s next ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’.

The first look of Alia Bhatt as Mafia Queen or Madam of Kamathipura is out and it looks LIT. The 2 posters unveiled by the makers’ showcases the actor in a powerful and fierce avatar. In the first poster, we see a young Gangubai sitting on the floor with a gun kept on the table by her side. She is seen wearing a blue blouse and a red skirt with hair plaited in two. She teamed it up with small hoop earrings and green bangles. The red bindi and lost in her thought expression adds more to her intense look.

In the second poster, which is a close-up shot, Alia is seen giving us mafia queen vibes sporting dark kohled eyes and a big red bindi with a choker necklace, nose pin and earrings.

Talking about Gangubai Kathiawadi, the film is directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. For the film, Alia is leaving no stone unturned and is reportedly learning the body language and the way gangster would talk and walk.

The film will also feature Alia’s Gully Boy co-star Vijay Raaz in a pivotal role. For the unreserved, Gangubai Kathiawadi is based on Hussain Zaidi’s book Mafia Queens of Mumbai. The film will see Alia play Gangubai Kathiawadi, the Madame of Kamathipura, who was forced into prostitution at a tender age, rose to control the brothels of Kamathipura, Mumbai’s red light district. The film is slated to release on September 11, 2020.
