Farhan Akhtar and Priyanka Chopra starrer ‘The Sky Is Pink’ promises to be a riot of emotions!

After loving their chemistry in Zoya Akhtar’s Dil Dhadakne Do, fans of Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Farhan Akhtar were thrilled to see them paired once again in Shonali Bose’s film The Sky Is Pink. The makers dropped the trailer of the film on Tuesday and it seems to be one emotional journey that is sure to make you cry.

The Sky Is Pink follows the story of Farhan and Priyanka who fall in love at a young age and how their lives change when their teenage daughter is diagnosed with a terminal illness. The love story which spans 25 years chronicles their highs and lows and their struggle to save their daughter suffering from pulmonary fibrosis and the repercussions it has on their relationship. The film also stars Zaira Wasim and Rohit Saraf as their kids.

Speaking about the film Priyanka was quoted as saying, “The Sky Is Pink is a story of love and hope, and I think that it will resonate with everyone at some level. We’ve all faced loss and this movie shows us how to celebrate the life of your loved one, instead of mourning their death. I knew playing Aditi Chaudhary was going to be challenging and portraying her journey on screen has been really special. As a co-producer, I’m proud to be a part of making a film like this.”

The film is based on the life of motivational speaker Aisha Chaudhary who passed away at the age of 18 in 2015 after being diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis. She was also the author of the book, My Little Epiphanies which was published a day before she died.

Director Shonali revealed that the subject of the film personally resonated with her as she had also dealt with the loss of her child and the subsequent dissolution of her marriage. The film is slated to hit theatres on 11th October.
